Volkswagen has now added its unique Black Style design Package to the ever-popular Polo Vivo range. It first debuted on models like the Tiguan and Touareg in 2019.
The upgrade is only available on the Comfortline and Highline derivatives and, as the name suggests, most of the upgrades are coated in black like the 16-inch Portago alloy wheels, gloss black mirror caps and painted roof, B and C pillar and sill covers. Other additions include a colour-coded boot spoiler, privacy glass, chrome exhaust tip as well as anthracite headliner and sun visors. As far as body colours go, it is only offered in Pure White, Reflex Silver, Flash Red and Reef Blue.
Customers with Comfortline models will pay an extra R9 000, compared to R8 250 on the Highline and is now available from Volkswagen dealers across the country. Going by the success that the German brand has achieved with the introduction of the Black Design Packages, it will most likely extend to other models in the future.
In case you might be wondering, everything remains the same under the bonnet. The Comfortline is powered by a 1.4-litre petrol engine, while the Highline features a punchier 1.6-litre engine. Pricing starts from R246 000 and R 272 800, respectively.
To emphasise just how popular the Polo Vivo is locally, a total of 18 241 units found new homes between January and October this year. Additionally, it is also 2 747 more compared to the same period last year. The truth is in the numbers and they don’t lie. There is no letting up from the Wolfsburg-based brand, with a host of new models set to be launched locally in 2022 like the new Polo, Taigo compact SUV, Polo Sedan, Golf 8 R and Tiguan R.
Pricing for the Black Style Package on other VW models in the range:
Volkswagen Golf 8 GTI – R8 000
Volkswagen Tiguan – R28 000
Volkswagen Touareg – R45 200
