The Perfect Vehicle Maintenance Schedule

Regular vehicle maintenance is a given, but not everything needs to be checked as often as we think. Furthermore, some things need to be checked far more often than we are used to doing. To make things easier on you, we’ve put together an easy to understand check list of which things to check every month, every three months, and every six months. Take a peak!

Every Month

  1. Oil level: add oil if low, and check for leaks
  2. Hoses: replace if bulging, brittle, or rotting
  3. Belts: replace if worn or frayed
  4. Tyre Pressure: add air if low
  5. Air Filter: replace if dirty
  6. Tyres: inspect for damage, bulges, and uneven wear

Every 3 months

  1. Oil & Oil Filter: change every 5,000 KMs or as recommended by your vehicle’s particular manufacturer
  2. Power Steering Fluid: add if low
  3. Transmission Fluid: add if low
  4. Battery Terminals & Cables: clean if corroded
  5. Lights: ensure all lights and signals are in working order

Every 6 months

  1. Wiper Blades: replace if worn, brittle, or smeary
  2. Horn: test to see it works
  3. Brakes: inspect for wear and tear
  4. Spare Tyre: check tyre pressure and add air if low
  5. Exhaust System: inspect for rust, damage, and any loose parts
  6. Shocks: inspect for oil seepage or wear
