Whether it is a dealer sticker you want taken care of, or the previous owner’s not-so-funny bumper stickers you can’t stand the sight of, there may be a point in time where sticker removal will be on the agenda. But how do you remove it without leaving a terrible residue behind? Here are our tips.
First, this is what you will need:
- A hair dryer
- A credit card or scraper
- A sticky residue cleaner like 3M General Adhesive Cleaner or Soudal Adhesive Remover
- An old rag or cloth
Once you have everything you need, make sure the area is clean. Next, plug in the hair dryer and warm up the sticker for 30-60 seconds. Once the adhesive is nice and soft, grab your credit card or scraper and slowly peel the sticker off from one end to the other.
Alright, the majority of your sticker should be gone! Unfortunately, a sticker residue will be left behind. This is where the residue cleaner comes in handy. Saturate the area and let it sit for a few minutes, then wipe clean. If there is still some residue left behind, spray the area one more time until it is all clean.
Ta-da! You are now a sticker removal professionl.
