About the brand.
Back in the 1920’s, a couple of farm boys consistently won races on their Harleys with their trusty companion and mascot – a hog. Yeah, we didn’t know this is where the world renowned ‘HOG’ term came from either. In 1983, Harley-Davidson® formed the first club for Harley®-obsessed owners and used the acronym – you guessed it again– HOG® (Harley Owners Group). It’s clear the Harley-Davidson® culture has been special from the start, and groups of Harley® owners are some of the most loyal communities around. In South Africa it’s no different.
Here at Gumtree we absolutely love our bikes – our long South African summers and beautiful terrain create the most perfect recipe for motorcycle riding. Jeff Osborne, Head of Gumtree Automotive, has also long been a fan of the iconic bike and owned quite a few over the years! With over 7000 motorcycles currently on the site, it seems a lot of South Africans are keen to let their hair flow in the wind, too.
About the dealer.
With only 11 dealerships around the country, Cape Town is lucky to have our friends, Harley-Davidson Cape Town. Did we mention they’re Harley® Africa’s “Top Selling Dealer” for the past two years in a row? This dealership of 30 staff holds the largest number of in-house inventory for your viewing pleasure – an average of 180 models at any given time.) But, if taking a visit isn’t on the cards anytime soon, Harley-Davidson® Cape Town has been one of Gumtree’s most trusted on-site dealers, having published over 4500 ads since 2014.
