Opel has officially announced a brand-new version of its compact Mokka SUV.
The model’s design is big improvement over the predecessor and is inspired by the GTX Xperimental Concept Car, one of the first Opel models locally to feature the new Vizor design. Other notable exterior features are the LED headlights with daytime running light, the redesigned lightning bolt logo and stretched rear LED lights.
Both models in the range are powered by the brand’s award-winning turbocharged 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine that delivers 96kW and 230Nm, coupled to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The new model is also 120kg lighter than the generation it replaces, while the engineering team took the opportunity to also improve the rigidity of the body.
All this translates to fuel consumption figures of 5.3 and 6.1-litres/100km on the extra-urban and combined cycle respectively.
