Not all TVs are created equally, even if they look almost identical and claim to do the same things. Here are the top five things to consider when looking to buy your next TV:
If you are looking for a TV as your main family television to be placed in the living room, you will want to look for one that is at least 55 inches. If you are looking for a spare TV to place in the bedroom, kids play room, or the kitchen, you may want to opt for something closer to 32-40 inches.
Generally, the larger the TV, the more expensive. However, some larger TVs are even more expensive due to added features you may not even want. Don’t completely discount a TV that looks like it is a ‘too good to be true’ deal; it may be a good for value television that just doesn’t come with features you would never have used anyway!
Most TVs today come in LED LCD and are becoming more affordable by the day. The one drawback with this picture type is that there can be a lack of shadow detail and image fading when you view the picture from the side. Some newer TVs come in OLED which addresses and fixes these issues, but of course they are on the pricier side.
The thinner the TV, the harder it is to fit amazing speakers, so you may lose some sound quality the thinner you go. We recommend opting for an additional sound bar or surround sound speakers for that extra boom!
The Smart Choice
A smart TV is one that has the built-in ability to connect to the internet allowing users to download apps and use streaming services without connecting their TV to a laptop using an HDMI cable. If you are a fan of binge-watching Netflix shows, a smart TV is the way to go!
